Komatsu and Honda Jointly Developed the Electric Mini Excavator “PCO1E-2” and Launched it
This machine is an improved version of the electric mini excavator “PCO1E-1” (hereinafter referred to as the original model) introduced as a rental machine in the Japanese domestic market in March 2022. Like the PCO5E-1 released in October last year, it is equipped with a detachable portable battery “Honda Mobile Power Pack: (mobile power pack*1)” and an electric power unit “eGX”*2 as a power source.When the model was changed, we added a rear slimming design that was requested for improvement, reduced the number of batteries from 2 to 1, and installed it in the middle of the vehicle body (center layout). This achieved stability that is better than the “PC01-1” engine car while reducing the overall length by about 500px compared to the previous model, and further improved ease of use.

This system is a system for remotely controlling hydraulic excavators from a safe and comfortable environment such as an office, and combined with various smart construction solutions, you can remotely control an excavator while monitoring the operation of a dump truck, or switch between multiple construction machines from a single cockpit. There are two types of cockpits for remote control, “Smart Ring Type” and “Word Search Spaceship Type”, and by introducing this system in response to customer requests, we will contribute to the realization of a safe, efficient, smart and clean future workplace.
